They were being nice they did not think you could handle their Harley's but did not want to hurt your feelings.After all it was Mothers Day and your mom moving while you were gone was hard enough much less showing your self up not being able to handle a Harley.

I think you're overlooking one detail Bart. It sounds like they could care less about swapping out with someone else's bike and just preferred to ride the one they showed up to the poker rally with.

Its easier to go from a cruiser/tourer to a sport bike than the other way around.

When I first got my Dyna, I found the weight and longer wheel base a little difficult to handle. Now when I ride my Honda, it feels like a toy. The riding skills I've gained on a heavyweight cruiser made me a much better sport bike rider.
